Recorded at EMI's Abbey Road Studios, where earlier in the year the Beatles had recorded Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Pink Floyd recorded The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Sadly The Zombies were pretty much disbanded when this got released in 1968 due to lack of financial success.
Since its release the LP has come to be regarded as one of the greatest of all pop albums, with indelible melodies, complex harmonies, and an air of nostalgia and longing that makes it comparable to such albums as Love's Forever Changes and the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds.
It's a masterpiece. Easily as good as any of The Beatles work.

All you need to know is that it's a supergroup consisting of Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme, Nirvana/FooFighter's David Grohl (reprising his role on drums) and John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin. An interesting mix that brings together the sound of all three bands, in one form another. A very interesting listen, especially if you are a fan of all the bands.

With the band announcing their first show in years and having a new album's worth of material to perform (and hopefully record), it looks like Gospel are rising from the grave! And what better way to celebrate it than listening to the album that put them on the map for emo and prog? A strange combination of genres, but they show it can really work!
